Greetings from the mayor Hermann Vogler

Herzlich Willkommen in Ravensburg zum MLP Nations Cup 2010

Once again, Ravensburg is the host for this international women’s ice hockey tournament. As in 2009, teams from Russia, Finland, Switzerland, Canada and Germany compete for the MLP trophy. The spectators will watch great ice hockey from the attending countries.

It is all about technique, conditioning, strength and strategy in the fastest sport in the world. But team spirit is also an important key to success. I feel sure that each team will not only live this team spirit but also experience good sportsmanship between the teams and a mutual friendliness of all the participating nations.

I wish the teams a fair and injury free tournament and for the spectators, exciting ice hockey. My special thanks goes out to coaches and their assistants as well as to the sponsor wothout whom such an event could not take place.

The organisation of the MLP Cups is once again this year in the competent hands of the German Ice Hockey Federation and the EV Ravensburg. I also send a thanks to them and hope for large crowds at games in our beautiful Ravensburger ice hockey rink.

Mayor of Ravensburg

Greetings from DEB Vice President Bodo Lauterjung for MLP Nations Cup 2010

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Ice Hockey Fans,

I am proud to welcome you in the name of the Deutschen Eishockey Bundes e.V. to the fifth international women’s ice hockey tournament in Ravensburg.

This year, we can once again look forward to first class women’s ice hockey. For teams from Russia, Finland, Switzerland and Sweden, this years MLP Nations Cup tournament is a general rehearsal for the upcoming Olympics games in February in Vancouver meaning, these teams will have their absolute best players with them. And the U22 team from Canada will be an exciting to team to watch as well. The German national team is changing at the moment and is in the process of reorganization and will be seen as the under dog in the tournament. Therefore, our young team needs your support more than ever. Peter Kathan has assembled a fresh, motivated team strengthened through a few experienced players. Using this concept, the young national team was, after victorys over Switzerland and the tournament host Slovakia, the tournament champion a few weeks ago and brought hope for the future.

Once again, we have a competent partner with the finacial service provider MLP and their branch in Ravenburg that are giving the tournament their name for the second year in a row. And for this, I send out a special thanks.
I would also like to thank the leading team in the EV Ravensburg. They have put in much work, time and money before the tournament to give the teams and the spectators the best conditions during the tournament. Whether in the area of men’s or women’s ice hockey, the EV Ravensburg stands out with their perfect organization as a good host. My thanks also goes out to all the volunteers that make the tournament possible with their dedication and hard work.

We look forward to exciting games during the MLP Nations Cup 2010!

Bodo Lauterjung
DEB Vice President
